SL Scholarly Resources

Second Life is pretty new but there’s some great scholarship already in print and on the web. If you have a citation you’d like to contribute to this list feel free to send it to submissions at sl-education dot org and we’ll add it right away.

Maybe comments need to be reviewed. I was a little taken aback by the spam.

Hi - I am a secondary educator who is currently training other educators in my school in using second life as an educational tool with the goal of setting up an island on the teen grid in the fall of 2009.

I am also a doctoral student in computing at Pace University and my dissertation research is on professional development in virtual worlds. What I’m looking for is ANY research on using virtual worlds in education. If anyone knows of any, I would be greatly appreciative for a lead. You can contact me directly at abillig@valhalla.k12.ny.us or by IM to my avatar, Sarah Marcus. Thanks!!
