Streaming from SLCC in Tampa–Reminders

Hey all,

Just a reminder that all the streaming from Second Life is an all-volunteer effort. The streams into SL seem to be working pretty well today, and the locations of the other-browser streams are all posted early on in the current blogpost at Oh! Virtual Learning. You can find SLurls to the inworld streaming sites there, too. Try ISTE Island first and move on down the list if you want to gry those as well. At both the ustream.tv and the veodia.com links everthing we can capture will be archived. Just dig on down at those sites to find them. Attitionally, belladona memorial is on the job in the Main Ballroom, piping audio into SL via her SL voice and a headset microphone.

I will heartily applaud for M Linden’s comment today that one of their first priorities for education is working to make the use of media more reliable and less complicated. Thanks to Kittygloom at ISTE for all the support she’s showing us in the field, and to everyone else who’s helping, including Jeremy Kemp, who joined me in print in the current day’s Tampa Tribune for a picture accompanying a not-altogether-bad article on our little get-together here this weekend.

As of now we’re using my webcam on my personal laptop for the ustream.tv feeds and the built-in cam and mic on Jonothan Richter’s Mac laptop for the veodia.com feed. Anyone know how to set up a Sony Handycam so the turkey doesn’t go to sleep after a few minutes? Lol, ah, technology. I told Claudia yesterday that if they ever hire me my name has to be Murphy Linden. Sounds good, doesn’t it?
